About Dr. David Herrin

Two areas of healthcare. One commitment to understanding the person.

Background

Dr. Herrin graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis in 2007. He practiced in Central Oregon before relocating to Idaho and establishing Treasure Valley Chiropractic in Caldwell.

Throughout his chiropractic career, Dr. Herrin has pursued additional education in spine care, musculoskeletal injury, diagnostic imaging, connective tissue injury, and interdisciplinary case management. His postgraduate training includes study in whiplash and brain-injury traumatology, spinal trauma, MRI interpretation, spinal biomechanics, personal-injury documentation, and the evaluation and management of spine and extremity conditions.

Why a broader perspective

Over time, his clinical work reinforced something many patients already experience: pain does not occur separately from sleep, stress, work, relationships, fear of reinjury, daily responsibilities, or the activities that give life meaning. That realization contributed to his decision to complete a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.

How that shapes chiropractic care

His education across physical and behavioral healthcare has strengthened his appreciation for the biological, psychological, behavioral, and social factors that can influence health and recovery. It has also shaped the way he communicates: listening carefully, remaining curious, explaining uncertainty honestly, and involving patients in decisions rather than imposing a predetermined plan.

At Treasure Valley Chiropractic, David provides chiropractic and manual care for appropriate musculoskeletal concerns. Care may include chiropractic adjustment or mobilization, targeted muscle and soft-tissue work, movement and functional assessment, selected exercises or stretches, ergonomic and activity modifications, practical education, and coordination with other healthcare professionals.

Not every person needs every service. Sometimes focused chiropractic care is appropriate. Sometimes physical therapy, medical evaluation, diagnostic testing, or another professional’s expertise may be more useful. David views a thoughtful referral as part of good care rather than a failure of care.

Distinct professional roles

Treasure Valley Chiropractic remains an independent chiropractic practice and does not provide counseling or psychological services. David’s behavioral-health work is offered separately through an independent mental-health practice.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his children, being outdoors, hiking, reading, learning, and occasionally attempting to remember that life should include some fun.

My quality of life was diminished, and I should have taken stock in Tylenol! Once I made my appointment with Dr. Herrin, I expected a long road with many appointments prior to experiencing significant and lasting relief. After my first visit, my entire body felt remarkably better! The stiffness in my neck melted away, but more importantly, it stayed away. I’ve had several follow-up visits since then, and Dr. Herrin and I are fine-tuning how often I need to come for adjustments; he wants to find an adjustment frequency that fits me and what my body needs!

I have been going to chiropractors for over 20 years. I started going due to chronic headaches and hadn't found relief before that. In all those years of seeing chiropractors, Dr. Herrin is definitely my favorite. He has helped me with headaches, back pain, a hip and rib, and irritated nerves in my shoulder. He always listens to what I have to say and has a very open way of looking at problems. I highly recommend his services.

Individual experiences and outcomes vary

For the past ten years, I have had little to no feeling in my right foot and leg. In sports and work, they always moved well, but not enough to make me competitive in athletics or industry. After my first visit with Dr. Herrin, I felt instant changes in my leg and foot. Now 4 visits later, I feel that I can get back in shape

and functional again. The approach of Dr. Herrin is  extremely positive.
